The history of the exploration and climbing of Mount Everest has been recorded since the early exploits of famous names such as George Leigh Mallory and Sandy Irvine who possibly would otherwise be less infamous. Usually the ‘expedition book’ was left to the leader of the expedition to write and usually commissioned by it’s publisher, through a deal with the Mount Everest Committee, to help with the overall cost. Edward Arnold were the fortunate publishers to secure the rights to the first three Everest expedition books, now a rare and sought after trilogy -
