Tenzing Green ink signature 'Tenzing' and date 30/8/55 in his hand on envelope addressed to C.R. Butterfield, 5 Bloomfield St. Springfield, Mass. bearing a typed quotation by Edmund Hillary referring to Tenzing and himself reaching the summit of Everest. The quotation is surrounded by a colourful design. The verso of the envelope bears Tenzing's typed address and is postally cancelled at Darjeeling 30 VIII 55 over 2 Indian postage stamps. i.e. returned to the sender by Tenzing. A most unusual and unique item. 30th August 1955. £495
