Henry George Willink was a member of the Alpine Club and vice-president [1899 -1901].

He climbed in Switzerland in his early years, but particulary enjoyed walking and sketching in the Lake District and North Wales. His artistic talent was put to good use as illustrator of one of the most delightful of all mountaineering books Badminton Library volume Mountaineering edited by Clinton Dent and with contributions by contributions by W.M. Conway, D.W. Freshfield, C.E. Matthews, C. Pilkington, Sir F. Pollock, H.G. Willink and an introduction by Mr Justice Wells.

The illustrations shown above are taken from his original lantern slides which Willink projected during the many lectures which he gave at every opportunity around the country, but have not been seen since.
